Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This website, findbuild.pro, is operated by [To be confirmed: legal name of the company or person operating FindBuild], located at [To be confirmed: business address] (“FindBuild,” “we,” “us”). You can contact us about privacy using the form on our Contact page or at [To be confirmed: privacy contact email].
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the FindBuild website, including account registration for customers, professionals and companies, log in and password reset, personal dashboards, public professional profiles and company pages, project photos, search, the Project Room and its messages, the "notify me" list for searches without results, and our contact form.
3. Information you give us
When you create a professional account
- full name, email address, and phone number;
- city and state, and, only if you choose to provide it, your country of origin;
- primary trade or specialty, additional skills, years of experience, and a short professional description;
- an optional portfolio or website link; and
- a password, which we store only as a secure one-way hash. We cannot see your password.
When you create a business account
- business name, contact person's name, business email, and phone number;
- city, state, business type, construction specialties, and an optional website; and
- a password, stored only as a secure one-way hash.
When you complete your profile
- a professional description, additional skills, certificates you list, and a website link;
- an optional profile photo; and
- projects you add: title, description, category, location, optional completion date, and photos. When you upload photos, you confirm they show your own work and that you may publish them.
Photos are processed when uploaded: they are resized and saved as new image files, which removes hidden data such as camera location (GPS).
What is public
Professional profiles are private by default. If you make your profile public, anyone can see your name, city and state, trade, skills, years of experience, description, certificates you listed, website link, and the projects you marked as public — and your profile can appear in FindBuild search. Your photo, email address, and phone number appear only if you choose to show them. Your country of origin is never shown publicly. Company pages are also private by default; if a company publishes its page, anyone can see the company name, services, city and state, description and website, and the email or phone only if the company chooses to show them. You can make your profile or company page private again at any time.
"Notify me" requests
If a search has no results and you ask to be notified, we store your email address, the service you need, and the city and state you entered. We use them only to email you once when matching professionals join, and to understand which services are needed in each area. We don't show them publicly or share them with professionals. To have a request removed, contact us.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, topic, and message are sent to the FindBuild team by email.
We also record when you accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy, when your account was created and last used, and, if you arrived through a shared link, a short source tag from that link. We do not ask for immigration status, and you should not include it in your profile.
4. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider's servers may automatically record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time of the request. These server logs are managed by our hosting provider, [To be confirmed: hosting provider name and its retention period for server logs].
To protect our forms against spam and abuse, the website keeps a temporary, non-public record that combines a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with the times of recent submissions. These records are used only for abuse prevention.
5. Cookies
The FindBuild website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It uses one technical session cookie (fb_session) to keep you logged in and to protect forms against forged submissions. It expires when you close your browser, and signed-in sessions end after a period of inactivity.
Password reset emails
If you ask to reset your password, we email you a single-use link that expires after 60 minutes. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version of that link.
If you arrived through a shared link, your browser may temporarily remember the link's source tag for the current browsing session so it can be included with your form submission. This stays in your browser and is deleted when you close the tab.
6. How we use your information
- to create and operate your account and profile;
- to contact you about your account and about new FindBuild features;
- to respond to your messages and questions;
- to understand what professionals and businesses need, so we can improve FindBuild;
- to confirm your email address and, when available, your mobile number with a one-time code sent by text message; and
- to protect the website against spam and misuse.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your information. We use service providers that are necessary to operate the website, store data, and deliver email, such as our hosting and email providers. To text verification codes, we send your mobile number to our SMS verification provider (Twilio). FindBuild never sees or stores the code itself. A verified phone number only confirms that you control that number; it is not an identity or professional verification. [To be confirmed: list of service providers and confirmation of any other sharing practices]
8. Retention
We keep your account information while your account is active, and messages for as long as needed to respond. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and profile from our database. [To be confirmed: retention period]
9. Your choices
In your dashboard you can edit your information, hide your public profile, remove projects and photos, change your password and email, and delete your account. Deleting your account removes your account, profile, projects, and photos from our database and storage. You can also contact us through our Contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. [To be confirmed: state-specific privacy rights that apply, after legal review]
10. Children
FindBuild is intended for adults involved in the construction industry and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the website and its forms, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, validation of submitted information, protection against forged requests, and limits on repeated log in attempts. No method of transmission over the internet or email is completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as FindBuild evolves — in particular before introducing public profiles or other features that use information in new ways. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
